Window Film Benefits and Rebates for Homeowners

October 4, 2013 | 2 comments

Because window film can bring impressive utility bill and energy savings to homeowners all year long, the fall and winter months are a great time to purchase and install EnerLogic®. Unlike traditional window film, this high-performance green product also helps lower monthly heating bills.

Most residential window films block solar energy and reduce solar heat gain during the summer, but don’t reduce heating costs in the winter. Certain low-e window films, such as EnerLogic®, offer homeowners year-round savings by reducing both heating and cooling usage. With EnerLogic, heat from the sun is reflected away from a home’s windows, reducing the amount of air-conditioning needed in the summer. During winter months, radiant heat from heating systems is directed back into the room vs. escaping through windows, reducing heating usage and saving homeowners up to 10% on heating bills.

To validate this energy-efficiency value, the Hyatt Regency Houston recently installed EnerLogic window film in 48 of its guestrooms. Savings were determined by monitoring and comparing energy used in rooms with film to rooms without film. A third-party energy solutions company conducted a six-month energy measurement process, and the results were validated by the local utility company.

Guestrooms with window film showed a 23% reduction in cooling energy and a 25% reduction in heating energy. The hotel will see a full return on investment (ROI) in 3.6 years. EnerLogic low-e window film can provide several savings benefits for homeowners as well, especially with available tax credits, utility bill reductions for window film installation, and a new rebate program.

EnerLogic®, LLumar®, and Vista® products are eligible for special homeowner customer rebates effective now through November 30, 2013. To be eligible, simply purchase 100 square feet or more of one of the qualifying products:

  • EnerLogic 35 (VEP35): $75 rebate

I’d like to get a quote for a residential window wall at our home in Waverly Hall, GA. It is approx 274 sq ft. I have dimensions, diagram, and photos that I can email for your review. (I believe your company installed the window film at Pratt & Whitney here in Columbus where my husband I and worked for 30 years, and it was very beneficial.) Would you kindly provide me with an email address and contact person with whom I could discuss available options?
